Hampshire comes to life in spring

Spring is a wonderful time of the year in Hampshire due to the fact that the county is home to the New Forest, part of the South Downs, and a piece of the North Wessex Downs AONB. When the weather begins to warm up these areas come to life, welcoming back an array of wildlife and flora. This is a great time of the year to visit and Harvest House stands out as the best bed and breakfast Hampshire has.

Our location in Milford-on-Sea may mean you are not situated directly in one of the National Parks or the AONB but it does put you close to the coast. Additionally there are good roads nearby so you can reach all three of the wonderful destinations we mentioned. The New Forest is under ten minutes away by car.

One thing that may surprise you during your trip through the New Forest in the springtime is the blues and purples of the wild bluebells. They bloom throughout the area, adding incredible colours to the greenery. Seeing them is a sign that spring has truly arrived.

On top of this spring is a great time to spot young animals such as foals and calves. They are born on farms across the area during this period. Fawns and ducklings are also a common sight in the forest in springtime. Visitors should have plenty of opportunities to see the magical sights of all these baby animals.

At Harvest House we really love how beautiful the New Forest and other parts of Hampshire are in the spring. We want to help our guests to experience them for themselves. That is why we offer such great accommodation and are always happy to offer tips about places to visit. We are confident you’ll have the very best experience when you choose to stay with us, whether it is a short break or an extended holiday.
