The best places for family days out

Located in the New Forest, our bed and breakfast has been offering a warm welcome and comfortable stay for many years, providing visitors with the perfect place to rest during their holiday. Being only a five minute walk away from Milford-on-Sea and a short drive away from the National Park and Lymington, there’s plenty to do here during your time with us.

If you and your children are fans of reptiles, then you may want to consider visiting the New Forest Reptile Centre, which can be found at Lyndhurst. Despite its small size, this attraction boasts a conservation centre where you are free to witness all of the UK’s reptiles in one place. Snakes, frogs, lizards and other creatures can all be seen from open air netted pens, living in their natural habitats.

Another animal-focused establishment present within the area is the Oceanarium. Found in Bournemouth, it is home to a myriad of underwater animals including the octopus, tiny terrapins and the more gargantuan species of sharks. With interactive displays, plasma screen documentaries and feeding presentations, you will soon discover the wonders of the sea. As with many attractions around the area, we strongly advise that you contact them beforehand to make certain that attendance is possible.

For something a bit more substantial, Adventure Wonderland in Christchurch is an astounding all-inclusive theme park experience. As its name implies, it mixes together classic Alice in Wonderland themed games and fun with family-friendly adventure rides. With over 30 unique attractions and rides to choose from, the word “bored” is practically unheard of here.

At Harvest House Bed and Breakfast there’s no shortage of activities to partake in while you visit the New Forest. If you come to us and are uncertain of where you should go, we can offer advice on the best places and which times would be best. If you would like to find out more about our establishment, feel free to contact us.
