One of the most famous writers of all time resided in the beautiful county of Hampshire. Jane Austen is one of England’s most commemorated novelists, and the region contributed a lot to the inspiration of her novels. There are many places in the county that are devoted to Jane Austen, giving visitors the chance to experience and discover her life. 2017 marks the 200th anniversary of her death, so there are numerous special events, activities, and exhibitions taking place this year too.

This walk enables you to walk in the footsteps of Jane herself. Take a look at the countryside of, and witness the inspirations of her writing yourself.
Winchester Austen Trail
This trail will take you along a discovery of the landmark’s that Jane experienced. Hampshire’s surrounding countryside will allow you to really tune into the ‘real’ Austen, including her grave at Winchester Cathedral.
Jane Austen Dancing Years Tour
This tour is experienced on a people carrier, run by Hidden Britain Tours, to explore North Hampshire. Everyone that takes part in this tour will be driven around and through villages to view houses where Jane once danced. You will also get to visit her birth place and witness the places she lived her first 26 years.
